We Eloped!

On our third anniversary, Felix & I decided to have an intimate civil ceremony in London. My mom made it to celebrate with us but unfortunately the rest of my family couldn’t. It’s definitely not how I pictured my big day but if the pandemic has taught me anything, it’s to let go of expectations and bask in the moment.

Did I ever imagine that at 23 I would be married? Well, no. I’ve always pictured myself being proposed to at 25 or so and possibly being married by 29. I guess life just works in mysterious ways and it’s okay to go with the flow sometimes.

The idea of marriage that I had in mind was always a life I saw with my best friend. It was someone I could grow with every step of the way, love unconditionally and be prepared to face the music with if and when the time comes. I didn’t think I would have found him on Tinder but love is love and it can manifest in peculiar places. I’m thankful everyday.

We decided on a civil partnership instead of a marriage because we wanted to opt out of religious obligations. Felix & I are agnostic so we wanted to make sure that we did it in a way we saw fit and that was without any body of religion. It’s honestly the same but with slight modifications in the way we marry which was enough to satisfy our principles and beliefs.

To two of our beautiful witnesses, thank you for being there on our special day! My hair & makeup was done by my best friend Beatrice whom I grew up with, and Lucy whom was one of Felix’s closest friend in university was so kind to make sure our day went by without any hiccups. It was magical to say the least!

Here’s to everything we have installed for us, my love!
