Exploring The Best Of Lisbon In 48 Hours

A quick getaway to Lisbon in the middle of the cold and dull English winter needed to be done. At this point, I’ve missed the sun and warmth so much that I’m starting to look a little sickly. With not much time on the clock, here’s what Bowen & I did in a little more than 48 hours.

1. Visit LxFactory

This historical industrial complex houses more than 50 artsy retailers, restaurants, bars and cafes for you to explore. The most extraordinary bookstore I’ve seen to date is within the complex. Livraria Ler Devagar is definitely a place you ought to check out in LxFactory. Aside from that, as you stroll along the uneven rocky pavements you'll find yourself immersed in a variety of eye-catching murals and sculptures on the wall. Great photo ops no doubt!

2. Get A Taste Of The Famous Pasteis De Belem

These egg tarts have been second to none ever since I tried them in Lisbon. It’s definitely one of the local treats you ought to try. I recommend trying to find a seat in the cafe to have them with a side of coffee/tea. It’s usually very packed but well worth it.

3. Go On A Pub Crawl

If you’re into nightlife, one thing you can participate in is definitely a pub crawl. They’re the easiest way to not only get drunk for cheap, but socialise with a variety of people from different countries. It was definitely a memorable experience when we decided to go on the pub crawl, highly recommended in terms of getting a quick and easy look at the city’s nightlife if you have limited time. The TimeOut Market is a food hall that you ought to visit when you’re in Lisbon. There is a variety of cuisines and local delicacies to choose from that you’ll be spoiled for choices. On that note, you can get yourself a well decent meal for a relatively good price here. There are also a couple of vintage wine shops that sells a few top notch selections by the glass that you need to have a taste of.

5. Explore Lisbon By Boat
