A Tantalising Journey At Chelsea Funhouse
Had the pleasure of dining at Journey At Chelsea Funhouse last night and I can’t wait to share what was installed for us that evening!
About Journey At Chelsea Funhouse:
A restaurant that ignites the explorer in you. For each “journey” you get a 1 hour 45 minutes tasting experience. Each tantalising dish is from places along famous travels & routes of the world.
There are 4 “travels & routes” to pick on the menu. Each “travels & routes” had a different combination of 4 dishes & 4 drinks to pair with.
What We Had:
The Raj, which included dishes from Great Britain, Pakistan/India, USA and Kenya.
Great Britain
Three Oysters - Natural, Deep Fried & Bloody O’ Mary paired with Gin, Olive & Salty Fizz.
Pakistan/India
Punjabi Spiced Mussels paired with Rose & Lychee Martini.
USA
Crispy Shiitake Roll with Grilled Tuna Chunks & Radishes paired with Bourbon, Aquavit & Apricot Sour.
Kenya
Mango Sorbet, Dark Chocolate & Spiced Coffee Syrup paired with Espresso Martini with Green Chartreuse.
Castilla, which included dishes from Peru, Mexico, Spain & Philippines.
Peru
Bream & Salmon Ceviche with Lime, Avocado & Crispy Tortilla paired with Pisco Sour with Fresh Pineapple & Jalapeño.
Mexico
Braised Ox Cheek, Blowtorched Tilapia & Roast Pepper with Mango Salsa Taco paired with Tequila, Vanilla & Grapefruit Paloma.
Spain
Pan Fried Sea Bass On A Bed of Chorizo & Baked Fennel with Saffron Aioli paired with San Sebastian Sangria..
Philippines
Ginger & Coconut Rice Pudding with Lime Sorbet paired with Arrack & White Chocolate Daiquiri.
Overall experience: 9/10
Favourite dishes: Great Britain, Pakistan/India, Peru & Spain
At £60 per pax, I’d say this experience was absolutely worth it. The staff are brilliant and the food is definitely worth the try! I’ll be back to try the other two “journeys”, no doubt.
