7 Ways To Save Money As A Student In The UK

1. UNiDAYS

UNiDAYS is without doubt the best thing for students period. It offers discounts and amazing deals from fashion, food, services and more! All you need to do is be either a sixth form, college or university student to sign up. You’ll have to link it to your university email so no cheating there. I’d say this is one of the best parts of actually still being in school. You get great deals just by being good ol’ young and broke.

2. Groupon UK

A lot of people sleep on Groupon but I swear it’s such a great site to find amazing deals. There’s everything from services, food, travel and more. I usually go on Groupon to find deals on waxing or nail services just because I want the job done and am not looking for any fancy experience of any sort. As long as the reviews are good and the location is not too far from me, I’m down. I’ve seen some pretty good travel deals on the site too, definitely thinking of getting it one of these days.

3. Amazon Student Prime

Amazon Student Prime is literally free for the first 6 months as a student. It gives you FREE two-day shipping for eligible items, exclusive discounts and promotions. When the 6 months free trial ends, it only costs £39 per year (50% off the regular price). This student perk also entitles you to unlimited instant streaming of movies, TV shows and music. This is great if you’re an avid online shopper and overall millennial. Amazon literally has everything you need.

4. Loyalty Cards

If you know you only get your pharmaceutical needs from Boots, groceries from Tesco and coffee from Costa then you definitely need to get your hands on their loyalty cards. A little goes a long way, collect those points and get benefits from them in the long run.

5. Student Art Pass

If you’re into art galleries, museums and historic houses, I recommend getting your hands on the Student Art Pass by the Art Fund. It’s £5 for a year to enjoy free or 50% off over 240 admissions across UK.

6. Coupons

I learned from my flatmate that you can get pretty good deals via coupons on newspapers or behind certain receipts if you keep a look out. For example, McDonald’s has a section on the paper occasionally where they offer a set meal for £1.50 and behind receipts of bus tickets you’ll occasionally find deals of that sort too for other fast food chains.

7. Eat In

This sounds easy enough. Most students get so lazy to cook but I kid you not that it saves you so much just by cooking at home. There are so many easy and quick recipes you can get online. My favourite app is Tasty and you can find literally anything you desire to make on it. Try meal prepping, that’ll go a long way.
