Langkawi with @IGersMalaysia!

A mid week break was all I needed and what more than a beach getaway to Langkawi for 3 days & 2 nights. I had the privilege of being invited by Sheryl & IGersMalaysia, a community for Instagrammers (I know right! It exists!!!) in Malaysia that targets Instagram users as their audiences to promote various products and services to fly to Langkawi and basically enjoy my holiday there. The catch was just to take pictures, get pictures taken & talk about how much I loved it, which I did! Honestly, who doesn't love a free holiday + being vain while you're at it?

We took a morning flight and touched down just before noon. The Andaman prepared transportation to pick us up from the airport and dropped us off at the resort. It was a very early morning for me so I took a nap while we were on the way, which was around 30-45 minutes from the airport. The resort is cosily tucked away in the tranquil Datai Bay between a 10 million years old rainforest and 8000 years old fringing coral reef. The view was beautiful and the rooms made me feel like I was in paradise (except the fact that I was cockblocking Sheryl & her boyfriend in the same room...).

Had lunch by the beach but to be very honest the food wasn't that good. It was kinda cold (?) and it just didn't taste fresh or good at all BUT I'm about to tell you about the best meal I had in The Andaman's fine dining restaurant - Jala in a bit \(^_^)/

Anyways, for the rest of the evening we enjoyed ourselves by the pool & beach and took a ton of pictures.

The next morning we headed out early to explore the Pantai Pasir Hitam (Black Sand Beach) which didn't really consist of a legit bay of black sand...more like dark grey honestly. We took some pictures around the area and headed off to explore the Kilim Geoforest Park.

We rented a speed boat and headed out to explore bat caves, mangrove swamps, eagle nesting sites and more. It was such an experience that we actually went so far out on the speed boat that we were at the border of Thailand! No kidding tho, my phone reception switched haha!

To end the day, Sheryl & I took a mandatory beach silhouette pic before the BEST DINNER EVER!!!

image.jpg

Freshly made bread with homemade dipping sauce. It was perfect!

I love it when my shrimp is cooked just right and when it's fresh it has this bouncy, crunch texture to it! This dish was one of the to-die-fors!

This is laksa with a modern/western twist. Very light and very different but somehow still filled with the same burst of flavour.

image.jpg

Very fresh sea fish that was delicious but I wasn't a fan of the sauce that went with it.

image.jpg

Dessert was one of my favs! It was like deconstructed kuih with homemade ice-cream...

YUM!!!

Just before we headed back home, we ran around the beach and soaked up some sun all in time for our flight. Langkawi was just what I needed and it was lovely! Totally forgot to mention that duty free shopping is always amazing there. Grabbed some chocolate and snacks at the airport before we headed back home. I LOVE HOW CHEAP THINGS ARE WITHOUT TAX!!! UGH.

Anyways, big love and thanks to Sheryl & @IGERSMALAYSIA for the invite, @AirAsiaGo for the flight sponsor, @DigiTelco for the sponsor & @TheAndaman for the hospitality. Till next time!
