Food Escapades: Aziamendi 88

Dined at Chef Eneko Atxa's pop-up restaurant - Aziamendi 88 at Mandarin Oriental for my birthday with Kamy & Thira.

“Aziamendi 88 in KL was to showcase the masterworks of chef Eneko Atxa, whose boundary-pushing hilltop establishment Azurmendi in Larrabetzu is one of only eight eateries in Spain to currently hold three Michelin stars, consistently soaring up the global ratings to be ranked among the world's top 20 restaurants this year.”

Truffled Egg

My favorite! One-mouth-wonder. Egg yolk that has been separated from its white and infused with truffle essence. It was quite an experience with the appetizer itself.

We were hesitant at first but once we took a mouth full of it we were left mind blown for a few seconds.

The Garden

Love the masterpiece that is The Garden. It consists of beetroot and adorable miniature vegetables on it. Personally not a fan of beetroot so this wasn't much of a rave for me.

Grilled Tuna, Fried Eggs, Marmitako & Flowers

This was semi-lovely. Semi because I'm not a fan of raw fish so the little bit of raw tuna on cracker was honestly quite torturous to ingest but everything else on the plate was delicious! I loved the perfectly grilled tuna and the crispy crust coated runny egg yolk that was just oozing out when I took a bite.

Lamb shoulder, Pesto, Parmesan & Pine Nuts

Another one of my favorites, the lamb was so tender and it went perfectly with the pesto sauce.

Dulcey Chocolate & Peanut, Salted Caramel Ice Cream

I thought the Dulcey Chocolate & Peanut was a bit too sweet but I loved everything about the Salted Caramel ice cream.

It was definitely a nice dining experience with the girls. It's not everyday you get a 3 Michelin star 5 course meal for lunch but haaaay!!! that's the goal :p keep striving hahahaha!

Much love.
