London Is Calling!
Felix and I are moving to London and we’re thrilled! He’s got a graduate job right out of university and I’m extremely proud of him. This is a new chapter in our lives that I’m honestly looking forward to. The pandemic has been difficult for a lot of us so this change is definitely refreshing. We’re honestly so grateful for the opportunities and I guess this post is to pay a little homage to Bristol, where it has been my home for the past 2 years and a half.
Where do I begin? As I’ve come to realise that although Bristol was where I officially became independent and met the love of my time, it is time to move on. Bristol is a lot of things but it wasn’t particularly inspiring to me. I’m a big city girl through and through, Bristol just wasn’t fast-paced and exciting enough for me. There’s this ongoing joke I make that may or may not offend but I’ve coined the term “homeless chic” to describe the sense of style the youth in Bristol have embraced. It’s always clothing that’s overly baggy that makes you look like you’ve just rolled out of bed with some added accessories. Don’t get me wrong, “homeless chic” is comfy, but it isn’t particularly motivating for me to look like I’ve just rolled out of bed every day as I go about my day. It does however fit the vibe of the city where Banksy is a household name and graffiti plastered on the walls are treasured. I have absolutely no issue with that but I needed to get out of my comfort zone to grow and it just felt like the Big Smoke was the place to do it all!
