Basic Go-To Make-Up Routine

Lately I've been getting requests to film a tutorial on my everyday make-up routine but I've been busy, so maybe next time? Since I'm unable to film, I thought maybe I could help by writing a step-by-step post on how I do my make-up and about the products I use. Hope it helps!

To start of, I don't use make up everyday...I only doll up during the weekends or for special occasions/functions. This post will be on my most basic go-to make-up routine I follow due to me being always lazy & on-the-go.

BAREFACED

First off, start with your base. I use Stila's

CC Color Correcting Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 20 in Light. It

helps even out my uneven skin tone, provides good coverage & protects me from UV rays.

Apply only a generous amount because you don't want to look all caked up. Bases that feels light on your skin but still gives you the coverage you need are my favourite kind of bases! Even out your base with your middle and index finger.

Next, fill in your brows. I use Shu Uemura's Hand Formula Eyebrow Pencil in Stone Grey 05. If you plan to purchase one for yourself, I recommend getting assistance from the people working there as to what shade suits you best before buying it.

The eyebrow pencil might look complicated but it's really easy to use once you get the hang of it. When filling in your eyebrows, make sure you use light and small strokes according to the direction of your eyebrow growth.

Brush your brows with a mascara wand (just so you know, I got it from Daiso) and make sure the colour gradient goes from light to dark, inside out.

Heads up! If the pencil lead breaks or goes blunt, you can always send it back to the shop and get them to sharpen it for you for free.

NEVER ATTEMPT TO SHARPEN IT ON YOUR OWN.

Disclaimer : You will fail.

After making sure your eyebrows are on point, continue by lining your eyes. I use Maybelline's Hypersharp Liner. I literally only know how to use this eyeliner. I've mastered this so well that if you were to hand me any other eyeliner, I would make a huge mess. I find it really easy to use, application is really smooth as well.

Normally, people shut their eyes when lining their lids. In my case, I open them. It might be impossible for some of you but for me, it works like a charm. I basically open my eyes and line according to the curve of my eyelids. If you're the kind of person who can't line with your eyes closed as well then hop onboard!!! Or else, line the usual way...it's entirely up to you. #don'tjudge

As you can see, I like having my eyeliner drawn thick and not to mention my favourite (chicken) wing. Not sure why but I'm not a fan of thinly drawn eyeliner but if you are, suit yourself. Once again, it's entirely up to you to customise this look!

After lining your eyes, go ahead and curl your lashes with an eyelash curler. Make sure you curl your lashes as close to your eyelids as possible to avoid uneven bending of your lashes. Once you get the curl you want, apply some mascara on.

I'm using Benefit's They're Real Lengthening Mascara. This is the sample product I got from Sephora and I love it! Can't wait to run out so I can nab myself a full sized one.

Use a concealer after to conceal unwanted blemishes and dark circles. I'm using the Flawless Skin Protecting Concealer from The Body Shop. It was the first ever concealer I've ever bought in my life and I'm staying loyal to it. It has a moisturising balm in the centre of the product that helps keep my eye area moisturised.

After applying the concealer on designated areas, gently use your fingers to smoothen it out. This concealer is really easy to carry around and the application is really smooth. Coverage is 8/10 as well!

After concealing, I seal my look with my favourite Maybelline White Superfresh in Sand Beige. Dab it gently all over your face for a perfect matte finish. This product is legit! It really says what it does. It keeps my skin shine free throughout the day and it smells absolutely amazing. It's definitely one of my go-to make-up products because I absolutely hate having that oily shine on my face. I have to give it to them, it works wonders for a drugstore make-up. It also has UV protection which is essential for me because I'm always going in and out of places.

Dab it gently on all parts of your face and make sure it's evenly spread out.

So now you're looking all porcelain, time to add some colour! My favourite lipstick of all time that goes with any occasion, be it day or night has to be 3CE's Matte Lip Colour #308 Pink Jam. It's really long lasting and not to mention moisturising. Definitely my favourite go-to lipstick for the time being!

Heads up! Dont't forget to apply lip balm before your coat of lipstick! I'm using EOS's Visibly Soft Lip Balm - Vanilla Mint.

MADE UP

And there your have it, my most basic go-to make-up routine. I hope it didn't bore you to death or anything :p Enjoy recreating this look!
